Check-in is 30 minutes prior to departure for vehicles and 10 minutes for foot passengers - otherwise space will be reallocated. Late check-in may also lead to the vehicle being refused carriage.
Kennacraig Ferry Terminal from Monday 13 November preparatory site work will begin at Kennacraig. The North berth will also close 22 November to 15 December to allow re-pointing works but this will not prevent berthing or extend turnaround times. We would like to reassure customers and the Islay community that the preparatory work beginning next week will not affect their ferry service, and that operations will continue as normal. This work is in preparation for major upgrade works at the port to make them ready for the new Islay vessels, which commence in January 2024. We will keep customers updated on the impact of these later works in coming weeks.
Book your ticket online in advance of travel - even if you're a foot passenger. When you book online, you will immediately receive an eTicket direct to your email inbox. Each eTicket has a QR code, meaning you'll instantly be ready to board. There's no need to print at home or collect your tickets at the port, eTickets can be scanned from your device.
Our new booking and ticketing platform is live across our system. - When booking travel to/from Islay online, please select the port you plan to travel to/from - either Port Ellen or Port Askaig. If your booking is for a return journey, and you are selecting different Islay ports for each leg, please use the 'multi-Island' booking feature, shown when prompted to select the ticket type you'd like. This feature can be used to bundle multiple journeys across our network and will allow customers to make a return booking with travel through different Islay ports.
