Western Isles Foyer in support of their Food for Thought project
AMOUNT AWARDED: £1,750
We want to provide a simple and nutritious lunch from Monday - Friday for drop-in service users (many of whom are on a low income). The drop-in service has an average of 50 young people who utilise its services on a weekly basis. It is open 50 weeks per year and has had 2690 individual drop-ins over the last 12 months. This project would allow us to purchase ingredients to be able to support any service-users, including those living in our supported accommodation service, to increase their confidence in the kitchen (in respect of being able to safely store, prepare and cook food for themselves).
Why were they chosen?
The services capability to reach disadvantaged groups and tackle real social issues was seen positively.
