The submission:
Islay and Jura Youth Action are a youth organisation that run recreational activities which include weekly youth clubs, summer projects and educational activities. They are led by young people and deliver activities based on the needs and wants of the young people in their community.
Why were they chosen?
Movie Club, ran monthly, is young people led by choosing movies to show, running a tuck shop and creating theme nights, as well as showing movies they'll add sessions that include script writing, movie making, prop and special effects make up. They plan to create a movie premier Oscar style event at the end of the workshops to show an appreciation of the young people taking part. This club would bring young people and movie goers together and create an inclusive diverse group.
