Islay & Jura Highland Dancers
The Islay & Jura Highland Dancers are a group of children aged 4-18 years who meet regularly to practise highland dancing and to showcase their work on their native islands and at major highland dancing competitions throughout Scotland.
With support of the CalMac Community Fund Islay & Jura Highland Dancers will strengthen links with Irish schools and develop mutual skills and understanding of one another's cultures. Highland Dancing helps to build strong and flexible bodies, improves agility, coordination, balance and increases bone density. Dancers learn to goal set, self-discipline, resilience and adaptability which will last them a lifetime.
