Ferry operator CalMac is to stop selling Citylink bus tickets from its Stornoway office.
The bus ticket sales facility will now be provided from the nearby VisitScotland information office. Passengers will still be able to book Citylink tickets online through calmac.co.uk if they wish.
CalMac's Commercial Director, Diane Burke said 'Demand for bus tickets from our Stornoway port office has dropped by 75% over the past four years. 'It is just not viable for our staff to process such low numbers when they have to cope with growing demands from increased numbers of ferry travellers. 'I'm delighted that we have been able to team up with colleagues at VisitScotland to continue to offer this facility in the town.'
Citylink will continue to be a valued travel partner for the company.
